The
Family Business Network (F.B.N.) was created
in 1990
in response to a very urgent need to establish
an association exclusively
dedicated to raising the
quality
of leadership and management in family
businesses around the world.
The F.B.N. is a non-profit making
association that organises activities and
sets up training programmes for family enterprises
with the assistance of academic consultants,
whose aim is to creat and spread
knowledge, exchanging experiences and building
interpersonal relationships between family
businesses around the world.
The Family Enterprise Institute
in the only officially recognized representative of the F.B.N.
in Spain.
The main objectives of the
F.B.N. are:
- To help family businesses
understand generational transitions and to
assist family business owners in achieving
success and finding the key to the sustainability
of their business
.
- To provide the greatest
possible amount of information for family businesses
by means of associations, meetings, symposiums
and seminars, putting them in contact with
leading academics and experts on family business.

To support family enterprises and serve as
an intermediary between different organisations.
The main activity of the F.B.N.
is the Annual Conference which is the most important
event on the family business agenda. The conference
is supported by various different institutions in
collaboration with F.B.N. International. Every year
a specially-designed programme is put forward for
the business founders, their successors and the other
family members who manage the family business. It
is attended by speakers of the very highest calibre,
renowned academics who are experts in family-owned
businesses. The conference focuses on the main needs
of family enterprises, seeking to provide the most
effective solutions and guidelines, and endeavouring
to ensure that enterprises can learn from each other
through sharing their own experiences.
