REGIONAL ASSOCIATIONS

The Regional Family Enterprise Associations shows the intent of collaboration and willingness of the Family Enterprise Institute in establishing links with family enterprises located in various regions throughout Spain.

This has allowed the Institute to broaden its national scope in collaboration with regional organisations that undertake the task of transmitting, in their respective autonomous regions, all the aspects on which it has been working at both national and European level.

The Associations bring together business owners in the Autonomous Region where the enterprise is located with the aim of representing and upholding the interests of the business structure in their region at both local and regional level.

At present there are sixteen Regional Family Enterprise Associations located in six teen Autonomous Regions.

The link between the Family Enterprise Institute and the Associations is established by a collaboration agreement for the exchange of information and documentation and the organisation of joint activities.

This agreement includes public identification as an "Association affiliated to the Family Enterprise Institute” and is strengthened by the attendance of members of the Institute at their Board Meetings.

IEF Services for Regional Associations:

- Providing information of interest to enable them to carry out their functions. - Support for improving the legal framework of the family business. - Promoting their development and growth. - Coordinating the Regional Associations and endeavouring to unite objectives. - Assisting them in the organisation of their activities.

The Family Enterprise Institute has drawn up a specific training programme for Regional Associations which includes the participation of top national and international experts in the field and, amongst other matters, deals with: succession in the family enterprise, governing bodies in family businesses, and family enterprise protocol and governance structures in family businesses.
